Rainbow Ingots in Duskfade

Rainbow Ingots are the rare metal that makes Minutero look like the weapon Zirian’s grandfather would have been proud to hang on a workshop wall. They are also Gold trophy bait. The Most Beautiful Sword in the Land asks you to find all Rainbow Ingots. One of them is a shop purchase. The rest hide in Tearfeld the same way Clock Heart Pieces do: off-route, often behind Grapple, Pendulum, or a rail you unlock two biomes later.

This page keeps shop facts, forge facts, and cleanup habits in one place so you do not spend the ingot on the wrong assumption. Ingots are not Upgrade Gears. They do not buy Blast radius. They feed sword skins at the Tick Town anvil and count toward 100%.

The Tick Town shop ingot

Central Tick Town, near the teleporter, sells a Rainbow Ingot for a modest shard / crystal cost. Buy it when you can spare the currency; it is the fastest way to start Shared Memories, the Kingdom Hearts-adjacent Minutero skin documented in outfits. You still need Grapple to reach the blacksmith anvil to the right of the Inn. Without the hook-shot, the ingot sits in inventory like an unused key.

That shop copy is why people think there is “only one ingot.” Trophy text says all. Treat the shop as ingot number one, then sweep biomes after credits with Pendulum online.

How the forge works

Reviewers name the forge Cloudphaestus. The practical route: from the Inn approach, turn right, Grapple the gap, use the anvil. Palettes include Shared Memories and whatever other ingot-funded colours Weird Beluga locked to the remaining metals. Cosmetics do not change combo damage. They do satisfy Palette-adjacent vanity and the Gold.

If the anvil menu shows a locked slot, you are missing an ingot, not a DLC pack. There is no Deluxe edition at launch.

Where the rest hide (without fake pin maps)

Public guides have not published a stable numbered list of every ingot coordinate in launch week, and this wiki will not invent one. What is consistent:

• Vertical biomes (Ezarus Forest canopy, Lantern Port cliffs, cloud rails) hide metals on “too far” ledges that a jump plus dodge roll or Grapple actually reaches.
• Orange crystal coffins wait on Pendulum from the Clockwork Academy.
• Chests opened with Minutero can contain ingots the same way they contain cards. Swing at locked chests; do not hunt a skeleton key.
• Backtracking after each new verb is faster than staring at a blank wall during the story. The story walkthrough tells you when Pendulum exists. The collectibles page explains the three-pass habit: story, gadgets, cleanup.

Currency priority so Shopaholic and sword Golds do not fight

Star Shards also buy Traveler stock (Shopaholic) and Tailord dyes. Order that does not hurt:

1. Mobility gears and missing heart / Star Core upgrades.
2. Tick Town Rainbow Ingot (cheap, starts the forge).
3. Flasks for World Hopper if you care about the Sora recolour now.
4. Remaining Traveler objects on the cleanup loop.
5. Remaining world ingots when you have movement verbs.

Spending every shard on dyes before the shop ingot is how you reach the Tower with an ugly default sword and a Gold still locked.

Combat myth-busting

Rainbow Ingots do not make Wrath easier. Beat Wrath is still a grapple-and-dodge exam. Later bosses still insert timed platforming stun breaks. If a fight feels like it needs “better metal,” you need Temporal Shift timing or a Clock Heart Piece, not another skin.
